There are 3 things certain in this world. Death, Taxes, and the Valentine’s Day Blog. We do have some new ownership in this league, so I will do a brief explanation of this blog’s purpose. It is to show the cutest couples in the league that include a fantasy team owning a player that plays for the same team in the MLB. Example would be if I had Gerrit Cole (Speaking into existence), Yankees and Cole could be added on to this list. For now, that is not possible for this year. We’ve had some great names on this blog in the past and I have noticed as well, there are some very loyal owners who have been on the list for several years. Shout out to those owners who can keep a roster together! Without further adieu, lets get on with it.
5) Washington Nationals – Steven Stratsburg Oh how the strong have fallen. Steven was on this last year as the #1 pick I believe or at least close to this. The old couple that is just reliable and gets it done. Seems like there was some hiccups in this marriage last year as I Strat went for -3 points for the 2020 year. Nationals failed to have the year they wanted with all the injuries that piled up and you have to question if this couple needs therapy to get over the hump. Washington has hot girl talent, and Strat is one hot girl summer away from being trade bait. Big test coming this year for this couple.
4) Chicago White Sox – Tim Anderson
Another name that has been a staple of the Valentine’s Day Blog is Tim Anderson and the White Sox. When the White Sox first traded away Quintana for Timmy, there was a question of this trade was smart. It very much looks like a good deal for Chicago as Tim brings an electric energy to this relationship. Some would say this is the bad boy couple of the top 5. Gives me some Ronnie and JWow vibes. Overall, the talent is undeniable and deserves to be on this list once again. This duo was close to the finish line and they just need 1 last bang to get to completion.
3) Tampa Bay Rays – Shane McClanahan
And it is time to get the new owner a mention on the blog! There is nothing better than young love and we have it here. This has blind date love vibes as Rays Owner and Shane came together by luck and fate. Shane made his MLB debut in the playoffs last year and it might have been a rocky start, this year he looks to turn it around with a new guy in town. This will be the honeymoon phase as there is so much to look forward to with this couple with Shane being ranked in the top 100 prospects going into this year. Only time will tell if these love birds will work out, but I believe in this thing called love.
2) Matt Chapman – Oakland Athletics
This I believe is a new name on the list and has been a notable in years past. With the emergence of the Oakland A’s being a real threat in fantasy, the name Matt Chapman reigns more important. In 2019, Chapman went for 36 home runs and 91 RBI’s and followed it up with a 2020 injury prone year unfortunately. Oakland A’s in fantasy was ranked #1 in the AL, but had a premature exit with some Sox. Sox got into a sticky situation the next week as well. Despite the ups and downs In this relationship, I feel some make up sex coming with Chapman and the A’s as they will bounce back strong.
1) Daniel Norris – San Diego Padres
Here we are at #1! In an unexpected twist of the rules, we have Daniel Norris and the San Diego Padres. Sometimes breaking the rules to find love is the only way to go. This couple is the definition of love as Daniel Norris and the Padres have a great long-distance relationship always keeping touch on twitter. Sometimes I feel like the effort in one sided, but I know when they look up at the moon, they are both looking at the moon together. I love this love and I wish these 2 nothing but the best!
Notables:
6) Las Angeles Angels – Shoehei Ohtani
7) Boston Red Sox – Xander Boagerts
7) Seattle Mariners – Justus Sheffield
9) Philadelphia Phillies – Rhys Hoskins
10) San Francisco Giants – Evan Longoria/Brandon Crawford/Brandon Belt
