Valentine’s Day Blog

Happy Baseball Season Gentleman. Can you smell the love in the air or is that just PFBL Rays Retweets? What an exciting start to the season we have before we have even played a game. As mentioned we have the DEVIL Rays retweeting some good old fashion romance and the ANGELS are getting antagonized for their patient approach to the draft. Baseball Opening Day might still be far away, but the holiday of love is upon us. So for this blog, we are showing some love to the best players who are on the same fantasy team as their real MLB team. Best players should be used loosely as I am just ranking in the players in the order of my favoritism. Without further a due, lets start “The List”. (Do not fact check or call the grammar police -- Hot Corner doesn't have money for an editor)

Notables Who Didn't Make The Cut: Trevor Story (Boston Red Sox), Kris Bubic (Kansas City Royals), Michael McGreevey (St. Louis Cardinals) Let me know if I missed any that should of made "The List.

10) Luke Raley (Seattle Mariners) – A late addition to the Valentine’s Day list as Big Bear just scooped up Luke in the Rule 5 Draft. Luke was stolen from my team, so I was a little heartbroken. I felt like Montoya running down the beach as I see the image of Luke Raley and Big Bear getting cozy together. Luke does fill a positional need for the new owner and he is hoping this new love connection was worth the betrayal of a fellow owner.

9) Eloy Jiminez (Tampa Bay Rays) – This might be the opposite of Luke Raley as I am not sure how long Eloy will be on this PFBL Rays team. Eloy might be 1 injury away from just calling it quits. I appreciate the Rays approach on this pickup, as they are not giving up on love. Eloy has the high school sweetheart feel to him as you saw him in his prime and the Rays are just hoping Eloy can return back to his prime days. I wish these two love birds the best.

8) Bryan Bello (Boston Red Sox) – As we have seen, Trevor Story made the notables list, but Bryan Bello has joined the real valentine’s day list. A new love that has blossomed since last year. Bello was traded for Rocker (Rock Her? Hardly Know Her) and 3 first round draft picks. If that doesn’t show the dedication Ed has towards Bello, I don’t what will. We are still in the honeymoon phase of this relationship and Ed is hoping to take these things to the next level and put a ring on it (Playoffs/Championship).

7) Dylan Crews/Mackenzie Gore – (Washington Nationals) – Who doesn’t love a good threesome? Am I right boys? Kyle has his young National boys ready to compete and take the capital by storm. Dylan is only 22 and Gore is 25 and both are projected to have good seasons on a pretty bad Nationals team. As Rhianna once said, we found love in a hopeless place. Hopefully these Nationals trump their opponents and take the next steps in this franchise.

6) Jake Burger (Texas Rangers) – Valentine’s day is usually a fancier holiday with some fancy sushi place or a nice Italian dish, but who doesn’t love a fat, juicy Burger on Valentine’s day? We got that Burger right here for you standing 6’ 2” 230 poinds of pure man. Burger joins the Rangers and looks continue taking balls deep…. Rangers have some big hitters ready to pound and we might see another guy join this later on.

5) Shane McClanahan – (Tampa Bay Rays) – The Rays make it back on the list and this time a more trustful relationship is to be shown. Shane says he is now 100% going into the season and the Rays expect big things from him to start competing. McClanahan is as nasty as they come and hopes he can show his nasty on the rubber.

4) Carlos Rodon – (New York Yankees) – This pick might be a bit biased, but who doesn’t love Carlos Rodon by the 5th inning with most of his buttons already undone. Carlos wears his heart on his sleeve and never is afraid to show his emotions. Stroman unfortunately did not make the cut this year as there seems to be trouble brewing in paradise on what Stroman’s role wiil be this year. Rodon has a clear role in the Yanks rotation as the #3 behind Cole and Fried. I don’t see #3 being a bad spot for Carlos Rodon. If you were #3 in the Bonnie Blue 1,000 sex fest challenge, I would consider that to be a lucky number.

3) Wyatt Langford (Texas Rangers) – We are back in Texas giving Wyatt some love. It didn’t take long for Wyatt and the Rangers to take the next steps into the big leagues. Wyatt had a solid year of 16 dingers and 74 RBI’s and is only going to get better over time, like fine wine. I think this all the makings of being a long term relationship in Texas and great things are to come.

2) Aaron Nola (Philadelphia Phillies) –  This couple is as good and consistent as they get. Aaron has been putting up big numbers every year for a long time. Always around 200 innings and 200Ks per year and you know if he’s going on a business trip, he’s not fooling around and is all work. A true ace and the Phillies have a roster that can mess around and win it all.

1) Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) – What don’t the Dodgers win now a days? Mookie is as good as they get and the Dodgers are thrilled to have him for the last few years. Mookie is an all around player that will do whatever you need. You need a YABO? Consider it done! You need a stolen base? Sure, why not. You want Mookie to change positions? Oh yea, he’s got that in the bag. You can Bett on Mookie having another great season and the Dodgers are happy to have the #1 valentine.

Feel free to use this list if you are trading one of these players on the Top 10! Should add to the value of what you can get back. Also even if Sam disagrees, it is okay to fall in love with your players. Good luck to everyone this season and Go Yanks!
