Chiraq -- We’ve gotten this league at a pretty good place right now, besides Sam being the Champ but that’s a story for another time. We at the Hot Corner try to provide you guys content as much as we can while also running our own teams which as you know can be a lot to handle by itself. That’s why this coming year, with a little push from the Rockies owner as his Sacco punishment, we are going to take it up a notch. There will be something out content-wise every week during the new season and that’s our New Year’s Resolution to the craziest, greatest fantasy league in the world. With that being said I want to start a little off-season series looking into some creative, even just straight up worthless stats. Since alliteration can be fun and creative juices are a little lacking at the moment we’re just going with Fun Fucking Facts & Figures (if you’re lucky enough to be able to put a comma after the curse word then good on ya) [if you’re clever and fucked up enough to understand what I mean then wait until you see some of these stats].
Since Coakland happens to have the Moneyball genius that is Billy Beane we’re starting with Moneyball of the PFBL. The breakdown is how much a win cost each team based on their payroll. It is broken down both by division and as a league. The thought is to see if buying your wins is really worth it or if teams can be competitive while still managing their money (maybe save some shekels for a new stadium because that Coliseum is getting kind of old). An interesting mix at the top to really make you think is this skill or luck (a lot of it is luck but some people just have a bigger horseshoe up their ass).
As a side note before you trolls come after my roughly hour of research I only did the regular season win total due to the luck volatility that there is in the playoffs and if you don’t like it pound sand (and yes I know big words like volatility, so what).
Enjoy some fun fucking facts and figures….
