The Race to the Playoffs

Chiraq – This is what it’s all about, playing for that second season. For five teams there are two spots and some magical years could be about to come to an end. In the NL there is still a division to decide and that leaves two spots between the Washington Nationals, current division leaders, Atlanta Braves, wild card leaders, and the Miami Marlins, just a game back. With a head-to-head match-up between the young Nats and the luxury tax oblivious Fish this week things could get real interesting with a South Beach victory. Atlanta Braves are the for sure sleeper team from the three, but the Braves are keeping their hopes high. Braves were quoted stating, “It’s a big week. I’m proud the way my team has played all season. The players understand what’s at stake here and are willing to do what it takes to extend the 2017 season a little longer than the rest. Its been a tough couple weeks here but it’s time to hit the reset button. We will be taking it one day, one game, one inning at a time.” The NL East is going to be a great ending! Strap on your seatbelts ladies!

In the AL three teams, all with the same record, are battling for the last spot as all the divisions have been wrapped up. The white hot fellatio birds north of the boarder hold the upper hand with facing the Bo’Sox in the last game and hold the head-to-head tie breaker against Billy Beane’s boys out in Coakland.

“These last few weeks have been a grind for (us)…” said Toronto Owner Matt Transon “…but (we’re) proud of this group of guys, battling through injury and getting where we are today. It’s essentially the playoffs now, do or die, win or go home…”

No matter your feeling on strength of league, with the three AL wild card teams coming into the last week with (9-10) records, this is the exciting part. Laying your dick on the line and hoping to inch out a win to slip into the playoffs, if she’ll let you. “Destiny is in our hands” commented noted ass man and Red Sox Owner Edgar Nunez, which makes you wonder how much Destiny costs and how do you get all that glitter off you once she’s done.

There are a couple other races left but they are for those who know they are in the playoffs already. The reigning Champs are a game back of the Yank-Me’s for home field advantage in the AL with the Mariners holding the head-to-head tie breaker. The battle for home field throughout the playoffs is still open as well as the Yanks and the Mile Highers in Denver have the best records currently but the Rox own a 703.25 points for difference.

The season is coming to an end for sixteen teams at the end of this week but a second is around the corner for eight lucky bastards. Stay tuned with the Hot Corner (@PFBTheHotCorner) for all the action coming down the stretch and throughout the playoffs.
