5 Things to Expect as a New Owner

With new ownership coming in for the 2017, it is important for them to get ready for the shit storm they are getting into! There were certain trends that I picked up on during the 2016 season that I can see carrying into this year!
5) Free agency is non-stop
- The auction free agency in 2016 was fast, hectic, and a lot of fun. It was a bunch of bidding wars at the beginning of the year for hot players and it would usually come down to the last second on where that player would land. After a couple weeks free agency settled down, but you would still see a couple players a week getting picked up. Free agency can be a huge difference in a team's success and it should be taken very seriously!
4) Trade deadline shows the contenders/pretenders
Everyone is trying to win at the beginning of the season and has high hopes on making it to the big game, but for most teams, this will not happen. 2016 trade deadline was filled with big moves that usually took place between a bad team and a good team. This trade would involve a star player, while the bad team was taking on minor league talent that could be the next big thing. I see the 2017 trade deadline being somewhat the same.
3) You're going to want to purchase MLB TV
I think MLB is the hardest sport to stream if you are doing it illegally online and it can get frustrating trying to watch your players and you can't find out how to watch them. MLB TV is 100% worth it and it gives you the opportunity to watch any game you want to at anytime. It almost became an addiction during the year, whether you were at work or sitting in your car, MLB TV needed to be on. So if you are joining this league, get ready to purchase MLB TV!
2) Shitty trade offers from half of the league
If you are playing any fantasy sport, bad trades will happen. This is a different kind of monster in a 24-man dynasty league. With minor-leaguers, salary caps, and major league players ready to retire, people will take different opinions on which of these categories matter and not! When offering trades, it is hard to come up with what is fair due to these different variables, which end up turning into really bad offers at times. The best thing to do when dealing with bad offers is talk with the other team and talk sense into them or you can just ignore them (What do I know?!)
1) This league is fun as hell!!!!
This league is not close to perfect yet, but do I enjoy the competition of 24 teams that care about baseball the same I way do. It brings together people that might of never knew each other before this league. This league makes you feel like a real GM of a baseball team and makes you feel many different emotions! I watched a Blue Jays vs. Rays game last year from start to finish because I had the starting pitcher and closer in the game. Love the fact that we have media outlets, press conferences, different job titles, and a group of guys that want to get drunk and watch baseball! If you are joining this league, expect it to be a great time!
