A year in the books for the Professional Fantasy Baseball league and we can end it just how we started this league. Mike Trout. The first pick in the fantasy draft, fantasy baseball champion, and now another MVP to add to the trophy case. Kris Bryant for the Washington Nationals has added a World Series Championship and an MVP to his trophy case. Unfortunately for Kris, his team for fantasy was unable to reach the playoffs.
We reached out to the Nationals owner, Kyle Jackowitsch, but was unable to get any response from his as he is out of the country on a scouting trip. We will try to reach out to him later in the year to see if we can get his response on Bryant bringing him home prize money and a nice trophy. Nationals have a very young team that includes NL Rookie of the Year in Corey Seagar and soon to be star Yoan Moncada of the Boston Red Sox. Nationals also had Cy Young winner and runner-up in Rick Porcello and Justin Verlander, but later traded them to contending playoff teams. Nationals ability to pick players is Theo Epstein like and look for him to make some great picks in the upcoming 2017 draft to build upon the performance of his MVP, Kris Bryant.
For Mike Trout's MVP announcement, we were able to get a word with Fantasy Baseball Champion, Seattle Mariners Owner, Mike Duncan. Mike was very proud of Mike and called him a stud and the cornerstone of the Mariners all season. Mike is overrun with emotions to see Trout hoisting up the silver during the Seattle Mariners Championship parade to prove he is the uncontested MVP of the whole damn league. I asked Mike Duncan if Trout lived up to the #1 pick expectations of this years draft and in a very honest answer, Mike answered ,"100% worth it, but he did party a little too much in the clubhouse, but in the end, we got it done!" Mike has many reasons to party, but we will look into this issue next year to see if Trout's partying could become an issue in the Mariners locker room. I asked Mike how he was going to spend the money earned from Trout's MVP trophy and he responded that it would go right into the 2017 Mariners roster and Mike would do whatever it takes to keep the Championship trophy in Seattle. An unbelievable year for Seattle as they cap it off with the MVP trophy and lets see if they can top their effort from the 2016 year with back-to-back championships!
